The Merchants House of Glasgow, at 7 West George Street, is a historic neoclassical landmark with deep ties to the city’s mercantile and civic life. Established in 1605 under the Letter of Guildry, it has played a key role in Glasgow's governance and charitable efforts for over 400 years. Though formal civic roles ended in 1973, the Merchants House continues to contribute to the city's civic affairs and remains a proud symbol of Glasgow’s rich commercial heritage.
